About / Mission
Speechifying, Shakespeare, & Sea Shanties - We standout weekly on Saturdays with signs, costumes & flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors, express our shame at ICE, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a concentration camp just two blocks away.
We are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America, fighting back. This is a creative, participatory protest. If you support immigrants and their constitutional rights, join us!
Volunteer Needs
Help always welcome for weekly standouts, planning our larger events, outreach, recruiting new members, and especially to increase our impact in helping Immigrants and detainees at ICE. Interns are also encouraged to apply if in interested in assisting in marketing, press, event planning, social media, building our database, coordinating speakers, music, street theater and in other areas of interest.
