Abolitionist Mail Project
Through Abolitionist Mail Project, we create meaningful penpal friendships between incarcerated and non-incarcerated people to end the prison industrial complex. We seek to tear down systems that punish and create difference, and to build opportunities for communication, connection, accountability, and renewal.
Our greatest need is committed, consistent penpals. Being a penpal is choosing to form a friendship in the face of difference. Together you decide how you communicate (paper letters, emails, phone calls, video or in-person visits), how often, and what you talk about. We hope that as your friendships grows organically you can support and learn from your incarcerated friend.
We also need people to write monthly birthday/greeting cards
In the Boston area, we need help typing up member profiles and light database maintenance.
